1. How does the planning process work?Open or Close
Maybe you know exactly where you want to go. Or maybe you only know when you’ll be able to travel. Whatever the case may be, we are here to help create an unforgettable journey built precisely around your needs and interests. Our tour consultants are authorities on their destinations and provide you with exceptional options based on whom you are and what you hope to experience. Our goal is to make the planning process as seamless and enjoyable as your trip.
Step 1: Discussing your Destination & themes
Our published tours and themes are intended to serve as a "starting point" for the trip you ultimately end up taking. These suggested itineraries are based on our own expertise and destination experience. While it's fine to decide to take a trip exactly as it appears on our web site, most people prefer to work with one of our travel consultants to create an itinerary that meets their schedule, interests, and budget.
Step 2: Developing a Custom Itinerary & Specific Pricing
Once you decide to move forward and would like us to develop a more customized itinerary with specific pricing. Our staff is dedicated to working with you to ensure that the final itinerary is exactly what you want.
Step 3: Finalizing your Program
After consulting with you, we will request your final approval of the customized proposal. A deposit will then be requested to reserve space and confirm all arrangements for your trip. We will provide you with the necessary documents and checklists to help you prepare for your journey.

5. Is international airfare included in the cost on the website?Open or Close
International airfare is not included because we have found that clients often prefer to arrange their own flights using frequent-flyer miles. However, in the event that you would like us to arrange your flights, we are happy to do so using our contracts, which offer attractive prices on business and economy class tickets. Please note that all regional flights and any other transportation during a trip will always be included in the cost.

7. Will I have the same guide throughout my trip?Open or Close
We use knowledgeable local guides who are residents of the area they are showing you. They are experts and can be trusted to give you the best experience possible. They know where to take you for the best view, which restaurants to recommend, and what time to visit a popular attraction to avoid the crowds. Because we use local guides, you will usually have a new guide for each city or region. Though your guide may change, the quality of the touring will be consistent, and you can count on the guides to always be friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Guides are pleased to answer any and all questions -- in fact, our guides frequently tell us that Absolute Travel clients are their favorites, because our clients are curious travelers that truly enjoy learning about new cultures!

20. When are the best times to travel?Open or Close
Peak travel season for foreigners is in great part determined by weather. Peru experiences two very distinct seasons, wet and dry -- terms that are much more relevant than "summer" and "winter." Peru's high season for travel coincides with the driest months: May through October, with by far the greatest number of visitors in July and August. May and September are particularly fine months to visit much of the country. Airlines and hotels also consider the period from mid-December through mid-January as peak season.
From June to September (winter in the Southern Hemisphere) in the highlands, days are clear and often spectacularly sunny, with chilly or downright cold nights, especially at high elevations. For trekking in the mountains, including the Inca Trail, these are by far the best months. This is also the best time of the year to visit the Amazon basin: Mosquitoes are fewer, and many fauna stay close to the rivers (although some people prefer to travel in the jungle during the wet season, when higher water levels allow for more river penetration). Note that Peruvians travel in huge numbers around July 28, the national holiday, and finding accommodations in popular destinations around this time can be difficult.
